Crafted with Love

Over Two Decades of Flavor

Tshejor Ayzey was born from resilience, passion, and a mother’s determination.

our story

I am Tshewang Dem, the founder behind “Tshejor’s Ayzey.” My roots trace back to Khatoed, Sarpang, though my parents were originally from Khatoed (Sirangaon), Jigmecholing Gewog, Sarpang Dzongkhag. Like many Bhutanese women of my generation, life was filled with responsibilities—balancing family, a career, and survival.

In 2000, what began as a simple side hustle with just Nu. 650 (USD 10) grew into something much greater. At first, I made ezay (chilli paste) for local shops, often facing rejection and returned products. But failure never discouraged me. In 2010, I took a bold step and applied for the Loden Entrepreneurship Program, receiving an interest-free loan that helped me expand and professionalize the business.
By 2011, I officially launched my brand, naming it Tshejor—a blend of my children’s names, symbolizing “Longevity of Wealth.” What started from my kitchen slowly found its way into shops and homes across Bhutan.

The journey wasn’t easy—spoiled products, family objections, and the struggle of balancing a full-time job with entrepreneurship. Yet, perseverance paid off. In 2013, I left my corporate job to fully commit to the business and in the same year was honored as the “Woman Entrepreneur of the Year.” Recognition continued to follow:

  • Best Loden Entrepreneur Award (2015)
  • National Trademark Award (2018)
  • International Business Excellence Award – Bhutan (Virtual)

But beyond awards, my greatest pride lies in the lives I’ve touched—raising and educating five children besides my own, and proving that women can build businesses against all odds.

Today, Tshejor’s Ayzey is more than a brand. It is a story of courage, family, and Bhutanese flavors carried with love. Every jar of ezay is not just a product, but a reminder that with patience, kindness, and hard work, dreams can grow from the smallest beginnings.
